Cafe Pyrama - Aussie Breakfast

Today we had an awesome last minute breakfast and catchup with Debra and Christy at a lovely cafe at Pyrmont. We stayed from 9.45am right up till 12pm. The sun was lovely despite the cold weather.

The kitchen lies behind this red wall. Cafe Pyrama serves only breakfast and lunch. It lies on a quiet street, two streets away from the Star Casino. At night, it will be rather deserted. Mainly upmarket residential area.

The menu of their delicious breakfast. The online menu looks way much sophisticated but the one at the restaurant is one of a more simpler format and layout

I like the simple yet elegant wallpaper design in the cafe. Puts me in a brilliant mood instantaneously

In their bar, they serve alcohol as well, probably for lunch
Looks well kept
Staff are all asian but there is one white chef which explains the quality of the breakfast

The alfresco area. Nice place with the sunshine. However, we chose indoors as it was a little chilly for our liking. No pictures indoors as it was crowded so didn't want to take a snapshot.

Breakfast and lunch and specials

The menu for the beverage - take away or eat in

The entrance of the cafe. Simple and clean.
Notice behind the signboard, you will be able to spot water.
Yes! Just a few step, you actually have the water view of the harbour. Lovely isn't it?

I'm sure everyone is excited about the food just as I am. Let's begin

Refreshing orange juice

My cappuccino

Debra's flat white

Christy's Mocha

We share all the main courses and the greedy 3 of us shared 4 mains :)
My personal favourite - Eggs benedict with smoke salmon

Look at how the yolk flows. Yummy!

Smoked salmon truffle was great too. I love the mushroom combination with the toast.

Crispy potato hash - Only available on Saturday and Sundays
It come with two fried eggs and a long strip of bacon. Beneath the eggs are two potato hash. I'm a sucker for potatoes and that is the icing on the cake for me

Pyrama Big Breakfast
I will guess this is one of their signature dishes. Comes with scrambled egg, sausages, bacon, toast and tomatoes.
Tastes spectacular as well
We were so full and satisfied
Prices actually start from $10 for some of the smaller dishes on the menu but our dishes average between $15-$17 each
It was well worth the money spent

A group shot of the awesome breakfast *drool again*
Slurps - starting to feel hungry again past midnight

Look at my hungry face !!! Woohoo!!!

Whale Watching in Sydney - July 2014 Winter

So today is an excursion to catch the humpback whales in action with Merimbula Marina

An online deal made this trip worth $35 instead of its usual $80 per trip

We took the 1pm trip at Cockle wharf at Darling Harbour

It was a nice sunny afternoon with comfortable temperatures

We were ready to board the boat at Wharf 8

Picture of "True Blue" our boat of the day

This is my #ootd of the day, first time I get to dress up in 4 months after exams finally finished last week. Do try to get a good seat that allows you unblocked view of the sea/ocean. The sea breeze can be extremely cold especially during winter, so don't be mistaken by land temperature. Always always bring a wind proof jacket on top of warm clothings, or you can choose to sit on the upper deck where winds are effectively blocked by the captain's cabin (I just realised that when almost reaching the dock)

And so, we depart the wharf for the sea, water conditions are still good as we are being protected by the harbour

We pass by the beautiful sydney harbour bridge

Here is a panoramic shot

Now we are in open waters, near the northern shores, where wave conditions start to get extremely choppy. Dolphins were spotted but not too clear in the above picture

After an hour of boating, we finally caught sight of our first whale. The flips and all came much later. We need to be extremely patient for it to come to us. It is also said that they are attracted by loud noises, so people starting stomping their feet and making noises. At this stage, the boat was rocking furiously.
Great shots taken by the boat crew on our day of excursion. Most of us only managed meagre shots, so we offload these pictures courtesy of #merimbulamarina Facebook page

Once again, spotted whales in pair

Little humpback whale calf did a breaching out of the water just once on our whole day trip. Definitely the highlight of the trip. Hoped it could have breached a few more times to make our day even better

Cameraman's camera shutters were fast enough to capture this awesome shot

Just before landing, what more can I say. Beautiful creatures

Definitely mandatory to take a self portrait in this beautiful backdrop of Sydney's CBD. What glorious weather indeed!

Straight from my iPhone 5, I caught the calf breaching as well, though not as closeup as the crew's photography but hey! well worth my 2 hour wait in the freezing winds and extremely seasick conditions

Another shot from my iPhone

Be forewarned, please take your seasickness medication and prevent from overeating
People do indeed get seasickness and many people threw up or became dizzy onboard
So do your due diligence
Refrain from hiding in enclosed areas like the toilet and inner cabins. Try to get outside for more fresh air and try sitting in a different direction from which the boat is moving

I myself nearly threw up on the journey back as the sea was super choppy, but I persevered and made it back for a great dinner. I was literally starving

Welcome to I-bar at IBIS Darling Harbour

Fish and Chips :)

Beef burger with Chips for my friend

Delightful winter displays around Darling Harbour

More such lighted snow trees, would be more awesome if they was some "fake" snow

What an awesome way to end the evening. A very beautiful day spent at sea and around the harbour

Preparing for the snowy mountains - To Ski

SO ITS SKIIIIIII-INNNGGGG TIME

Just purchased a great deal online for a ski adventure just a few hours drive off Sydney. Wheeeee. super excited as I haven't seen snow in such a long time. We are going on a trip with OZ Snow.

Moreover, there is record snowfall the past week in New South Wales, so we are in for a real treat of snowfalls and snowballs :p

As you all know Sydney is not as cold to warrant total winter outfit. So I had to purchase some little cutesy stuff to keep myself warm in the mountains.

Neck warmers, beenie, gloves (that allow you to use your touch screen), socks and what not

Get them at Daiso

Because colours make me happy :)

See you next week Perisher *excited*
