Drunken Rice 주막 - Korean restaurant

The very same night after having lunch at Dulcis Domus Wood Fired Pizza, I adjourned with another friend for a Korean dinner

He was going to treat me tonight as a gesture towards my earlier treat

We wandered around Pitt street as it was famous for korean restaurants but we decided on Drunken Rice as my friend said his friend had recommended it. Also, he already had korean bbq for lunch and was sick of it.

The weather was also cold and thus perfect for some kimchi steamboat

Just from the decor in the restaurant, it was quite unique as we can see kettle pots hanging from the walls symbolising some olden days Korean traditions. Also, this restaurant is very popular with natives as Koreans were sighted and the language was visibly audible while patronising this joint

We had our starters, as well as the seafood pancake. It was a tad too much for both boys. We had the peach rice wine in pink above. It was really tasty and refreshing. Moreover, it came in bowls for us to drink in instead of cups. My friend still foolishly asked for cups and an older lady(possibly the owner) gestiulates wildly to us saying "use the bowl"

This spicy kimchi pork ribs steamboat tastes really good. I really like the broth and mild spice taste. The only problem is that it takes effort to eat the ribs haha. I guess we sat there for a really long time. Maybe we should have chosen the sausage ones which were easier to chew on. Perhaps next time. Total bill comes out to about AUD $60+, and we had a really good time in this little Korea right in this quiet street right next to all the hype and buzz in the CBD area.

Here's the address for the highly recommended Korean outlet

Dulcis Domus Wood Fired Pizza, Italian Restaurant and Bar

Had lunch a month ago at this Italian restaurant in Broadway Sydney.

I had actually tried their pizza a couple of months before that for dinner.

The food actually tastes good and had value for money.

I also like the authenticity of the fireplace, where they freshly make the pizza.

My friend and I had the same chicken dish below, simple but delicious and some juice this time round.

Arisun - Korean food@Haymarket, Sydney

One of the most recognised Korean restaurant in the Haymarket area is Arisun

Had the pleasure of eating there couple of months ago with my mates after revision for mid terms

I must say the quality of food there is quite good, although the really impolite service rather stood out

Arisun - credited from google - I believed they have makeover the place

Tasty small serving of black bean noodles was really really good
Price around $11.90

Spicy ham and sausage hot pot was delicious. Purrrfecctt for a cold weather. Extra noodles add $5. Theres ham, pork sausages, kimchi, cabbage, tofu etc. Not that spicy actually.
Price around AUD $30+

Their oh-so-famous fried chicken. Comparing the $12.90 KFC chicken, which do you prefer?
I must say the chicken is really tasty and you should try the soya fried chicken once if you haven't
That being said, be prepared to fork out AUD $30 for a plate
Price at AUD $30

La Boheme European Cafe & Bar - Glebe, Sydney

Had a good friend from Singapore coming over to Sydney for her holidays in May

We wandered around Glebe and settled for this really beautiful European styled restaurant along the main street that serves some fusion mouth watering European feast

German bier.. hey hey!!

Blue cheese stuffed mushrooms with homemade tartar sauce
Unique taste, really liked it. The blue cheese combination with the mushroom blends well with the crispy exterior, melting into a bundle of joy in your mouth
Aud $13.90

Bavarian meat platter - 1/4 Roast duck, chicken schnitzel, veal sausage, red cabbage with brown gravy served with speck & mixed dumplings, sauerkraut, red cabbage with gravy
I like the veal sausage and chicken schnitzel.
I didn't quite enjoy the speck, mixed dumplings and sauerkraut.
We didn't even finish that.
Overall I felt the duck was bit tough, and was a tad pricey
Aud $30.90

Löwenbräu Keller at the Rocks - Sydney CBD

Dreadful exams just ended last Wednesday

A bunch of classmates decided we should head to Löwenbräu Keller at the Rocks to try the mouth-watering pork knuckles.

I've always heard about this place since I came Sydney 1.5 years ago but never had the opportunity to try it.

Gosh, the pork knuckles was crunchy on the outside and succulent on the inside. Really flavoursome too. We ordered a meat platter which costs us $39.95 per head, which includes sausages, meat loaves, purple cabbage, mashed potatoes, chicken schnitzels and other meats (I can't recall)

All I can say is that, they all taste great except for the one that tastes like bread haha.

My friends all love the mashed potato, so do I. I found the sausages especially delicious. Big and huge, yummy. My favourite after the pork knuckles.

Service was also tip top and the ambience reminds us of Europe and in particular Germany of course.
The performance was great, games was awesome. The singing and audience interaction was hilarious at times.

On a Wednesday evening, it was remarkably packed. Initially, I found the food really pricey, but the portions were extremely huge. For instance, 8 of us shared 3 platter for 6, and we still had leftover food for other two friends who joined us thereafter. Overall, it was a nice experience and value for money. Of course, I really do enjoy German beer on top of all the meat dishes.

Imma will be back !!!

Le Pain Quotidien - Sydney Westfield

We had the pleasure of enjoying our Sunday tea at Le Pain Quotidien at Westfield Sydney.

We wanted to try the one at the Rocks but was sold out of its famous waffles, thus we had to travel to the upmarket CBD mall area. Thank god for the almost non existent traffic on weekends.

We dug into both the chocolate waffle and fruit waffle, together with our organic juices :)

So so good. Portion was a little tiny for my major appetite though hehe

Mr Noodles - Sydney@Broadway Ultimo

Long time since I last posted, and I've decided to reignite my blog. For my love for food, travel, great buys, lifestyle, fashion and everything that makes one happy.
Today is cold in Sydney and I had to slurp some warm Chinese soup with noodles to keep my body warm.
There is a new refurbished noodles shop along Broadway,Ultimo, next to KFC.
It serves yummy-licous Chinese noodles. You can have the delicious soup broth either with fish, beef or pork choices, or if you are the spice lover, you can have the spicy ma-la one.
Costs range from AUD $9.90-$11.90. It gets a little crowded during dinner time as the seating area is small, but that proves how authentic the food is. Enjoy!!

And lastly, am so amused by their self designed bowls
