St. Peter's to Newtown

I'm so blessed to have the day off to walk around Sydney with my Malaysian guest.

We decided to do the St. Peter's to Newtown route.

Off we go!!! Wheeeee. St. Peter's station starts from the end of Newtown's King street and a straight walk down will take you to Newtown and all it's glory.

As you can see, Newtown has an eclectic mix of old and new. Retro furniture shops and bookstores line the street. Yet, there are modern bars, eateries, cinemas and coffee shops around almost every little corner.

Many old folks like to stroll down Newtown street in the day. Many hipsters also frequent that area.

A florist on the streets of Newtown.

Many beautiful restaurants including this Turkish one pictured. Too gorgeous I couldn't resist a picture.

Although it's called Newtown, the exterior of the buildings are actually quite old. But most units are nicely renovated anyway, providing the juxtaposition between old and new.

This town is also very gay friendly. You can see many gay couples around especially on weekends strolling the streets. The reason is due to the artistic flair this area provides as can be seen in one of the houses above. Moreover, it's like just one suburb away from the CBD.

Happening area. Check it out tourists.
